RNIB Scotland need you to support blind and partially sighted people as part of their new Youth Forum called Haggeye. Haggeye is a project for 12-25 years olds who are young blind and partially sighted people throughout Scotland and includes events such as activity/fun days, training sessions and/or meetings. This role may involve you accompanying young people to and from events; this will usually be by public transport. While at events, you will either be involved in a supervisory role for a small group of young people, or you may be providing support to an individual to participate fully in an event.
This supervisory role will be shared with RNIB Scotland's Youth Forum Development Officer and other volunteers. You should enjoy meeting new people (essentially, youth), be flexible, patient and willing to travel.
This is a rewarding volunteer role that can also be a lot of fun. The young people involved in Haggeye like to have a laugh but are serious about working towards making a difference to the lives of people with sight loss in Scotland - volunteers are crucial to enabling, and supporting young people to do this.

Training is provided to volunteers and all expenses are reimbursed. This role requires an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check. You should be able to commit one day every 4-6 weeks dependent on Youth Forum planned activity (i.e. this is not scheduled every weekend).
