A challenging Accountant position has arisen in Aberdeen for someone that is qualified as an Accountant or someone that has nearly completed their professional exams. Within this position you shall be responsible for fixed asset accounting, and this accounts for around 40% of your time, and also managing the day to day bank activities, cashflow forecasting and management. The treasury function within this position shall account for around the other 60% of your day. Our client is looking for someone ideally with treasury and fixed asset experience however it is paramount that you can demonstrate the ability to interact with people throughout the business at both an operational and managerial level.

Fixed Asset Responsibilities:

Calculate and book all monthly depreciation, depletion and amortisation charges.
Maintain accurate Fixed Asset Register within Excel
Take responsibility for all fixed asset reporting requirements e.g. month on month variance analysis for month end close
Complete monthly fixed asset reconciliations
Prepare annual fixed asset information packs to satisfy group reporting requirements
Liaise with relevant personnel across the organisation to ensure collation and processing of fixed asset accounting information is accurate

Treasury Responsibilities:
Maintaining cash flow to meet the business requirements
Prepare and maintain a rolling 12 week cash forecast
Determine funding required or surplus funds to be deposited
Request funds from/Deposit funds with Copenhagen
Post cashbooks on a weekly basis
Prepare monthly reconciliations, ensuring outstanding issues are cleared in a timely manner
Prepare monthly analysis of WIP and Capex and discuss with relevant owner
Monitor WIP and Capex against budget and report on this on a monthly basis.
Provide support to address all fixed asset related audit and tax department queries
Prepare high quality fixed asset information for inclusion in the UK Statutory Accounts
