Applications & Data Solutions Architect
Due to growing demand, our client are currently looking for a Applications and Data Solutions Architect to join the team are based in Aberdeen. Main duties and responsibilities involve designing and implementing various real time infrastructure and application roll-out projects for several large clients from the petro-chemical industry. Successful candidates will possess material expertise in deploying, integrating and supporting Drilling and Completions applications and data.
This role will include mentoring of less experienced staff, in terms of the Applications. Keeping the wider programme appraised of, and understanding the opportunities in, emerging and current trends and customer requirements
The role will require some travel, and some long hours as project deadlines and work demands - candidates should be flexible with regard to both.
Duties Include:
Business Development
* Participation in bids and proposals where required
* Exercising a list of industry contacts in the interests of business development and growth
* Preperation and presentation of domain focused White Papers
* Pro-active opportunity recognition and quantification
• Active within industry forums and communities
Project and Consultancy Delivery
€¢ Requirements gathering and the ability to produce a documented scope of works
Communicating with the client and managing expectations
Provision of detailed cost and time estimates for work required and any continued supports to meet business challenges
Adoption of new software and hardware services on behalf of the client
Adoption of new methodologies, process and architecture solutions on behalf of the client
Building, testing and release of IT equipment where necessary
Staff Development
Peer reviewing of colleagues designs and solutions
Mentoring and developing more junior team members in technology, tools and practices
Working from, and adding to, documented processes, solutions and designs
The following skills and experience are desirable:-
Â
Knowledge of Project Management processes and tools
Wellsite experience, Landmark EDM R5000 and Peloton WellView or equivalent
Managing delivery from third party suppliers
• Coaching / mentoring less experienced staff
• Familiar with ITIL and CMM standards
• Experience authoring / presenting white papers at industry events, such as SPE conferences
• Knowledge of D&C applications is desirable, for example –
Landmark : - EDM, OpenWells, OpenWire
Peloton : - WellView, RigView, SiteView
Schlumberger : - Osprey
A network of industry contacts, involved in RTDI activities - across Operators, Service companies and Vendors
