An experienced Payroll Manager or Payroll Supervisor looking to take their next step into management is required by our Aberdeen based client. This is a permanent position that requires someone to take full responsibility for the efficient operation of this centralised UK wide payroll function, ensuring excellent service levels are provided by you and your team at all times.

You shall manage 3 Payroll Administrators and within the team be responsible for processing circa 2000 monthly employees pay and circa 600 employees pay spread across multiple weekly payrolls. You shall ultimately report into the Financial Controller and you shall work closely with them ensuring targets are achieved, procedures are met with best practice and the efficient roll out of any ad hoc projects, systems changes etc are handled swiftly.

This is a challenging, varied and demanding position that offers the successful individual an opportunity to manage an established team, make an impression with their ability to demonstrate best practice and implement changes where necessary. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise, good analytical skills and be passionate about your work.

Duties include;
- Understanding and maintaining procedures for managing the processing of amendments and time sheet adjustments.

- Understanding all working practices within the department so that you can cover for the Payroll Administrators in their absence

- Implementing established system of controls

- Primary contact with HMRC

- Supervising the Payroll Administrators, providing training where necessary and ensuring compliance is met at all times

- Ensure timely payment of all appropriate payments to external and statutory bodies.

- Establish, develop and maintain procedures and systems to monitor, record and report on company benefits and new benefit schemes

- Year end returns and assisting the Financial Controller with the year end close

- Involvement in the strategic planning and development of the function

- Assisting the Financial Controller with preparing for and handling annual visits from internal and external auditors.
