Assistant Hr Business Partner
JOB TITLE: Assistant HR Business Partner (AHRBP)
REPORTS TO: HR Business Partner (HRBP)
JOB PURPOSE
To inspire, advise, adopt and deliver leading edge people practices at all levels in the organisation. This will be done through business partnering and working with the HRBP to encourage ‘people’ to be at the forefront of all decisions and activities, and to enable and drive cultural change in the operational areas.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To influence and work with the HRBP’s and Area Management Teams (AMT’s) to create an area people plan that supports the delivery of the area strategy and fits with the company strategy.
2. To translate the area people plan into 90 day plans, providing measurement and evaluation to the HRBP, AMT and Head of HR on a regular basis. Where HR Services intervention is required the job holder is expected to develop a contract that is both measured and reviewed on a regular basis.
3. To provide analysis, recommendations and coaching support where appropriate for the Employee Survey, Health & Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Bullying and Harassment and other people cultural change activities as agreed with the HRBP in the area.
4. To support the area and where appropriate work in conjunction with the area operational teams to ensure the provision of accurate and timely analyses in relation to area activity in the provision of effective deployment strategies and overall management of the Manpower, Resource and Succession plans, keeping abreast of market and internal developments at all times.
5. To coordinate and assist the Operational Teams in the identification of root cause analysis and to provide appropriate support to ensure proactive, effective management absence and attrition processes in high impact units.
6. To support communications in the area i.e. Manager communications, to ensure that people focussed engagement activities and feedback are part of the way we work.
7. To support the HRBP and Head of HR in any project work or monitoring that is required.
8. To analyse and interpret the operational requirements, the broader organisational context and business environment to ensure that HR interventions meet business needs and achieve customer support.
9. To exceed expectations of customer service by championing HR through presentation, professional behaviour, team spirit, and expertise; ensuring that internal and external suppliers of expertise deliver to the agreed scope and specification
JOB CHALLENGES
The challenge of transformational behavioural change required to deliver a significant cultural shift will make the role extremely demanding. Against the backdrop of a difficult IR climate, a function that is process driven and bureaucratic and the requirement to support a 24/7 operation in vastly different environments and of enormous scale, this role is not for the faint hearted. The job holder will be expected to champion, be proactive, and demonstrate flexibility to ensure leading edge people interventions are in place and at the heart of the area strategy. Role modelling effective behaviours for operational colleagues will be of paramount importance.
