Mechanical Process Engineer Power Sector
Our client seeks a Process Engineer to work a Power Plant and provide Process Engineering support to shift staff and Engineering. The aim is develop operational excellence and to maximise availability, reliability and efficiency of the plant without compromising safety or impact on the environment.
The main tasks are to provide Production staff with safe, practical and effective methods of carrying out routine and non routine activities. This includes the identification and mitigation of error likely situations and the development of best practises.
To provide production input into the work control process. This includes but is not limited to work flow tasks within Maximo and the prioritisation of work orders for maintenance
To represent the Production department in the outage planning process. This includes the compilation of the isolation plan, isolation schedules and recommissioning plan. Outage coordination may be required on occasion.
To investigate incidents, establish the causes and develop of corrective actions in order to prevent reoccurrence.
To monitor, improve and report on plant area efficiency. This includes monitoring and controlling of process consumables (Fuel, Towns water, H2 etc)
To conduct audits and observations as required.
To contribute to the development of budget proposals for the department and station.Â
To represent the Production department in the development and execution of Capital and R&E projects. This includes the compiling of User Requirement Specifications for Production and the required procedures and checksheets.

The successful candidate will have an HND in Engineering/Technical discipline, although preferably B Degree in Engineering discipline.  Three years senior operational experience in a Power Plant or Major Process. At least 5 years in a process industry, of which at least 3 years should be in a large CCGT or conventional power station. Be familiar with safety and environmental policies, procedures and legislation. Effective use of computer facilities. Ability to fault find and engineer solutions. Project Management skills.  Analytical and report writing skills.
