Structural Project Manager
This is a fairly exciting time within my clients organisation. The company was started as a family run business in 1981 specialising in the design, supply, maintenance and inspection of lifesaving equipment used in the North Sea.
Specialists in the Oil and Gas and marine markets, today, they have 98% of the market share in the North Sea and are in the process of building and developing their global business.
They operate a cradle to the grave service and can boast that they manufacture the safest quick release technology on the market.
Their business is not reliant as such on the oil price, be it installation of a platform, production or decommissioning, their lifesaving technology is required therefore they have a strong platform to continue to develop and build on their existing business model and expand it into new areas.
Having doubled their turnover in the last 4 years, they have ambitious plans to do it again by 2011 and therefore have a requirement to add highly skilled engineers and management into the business. Their business is changing at the moment. Their clients recognise the excellent work they have been doing so far and now require them to recruit someone with a good core structural background to project manage some new work from feasibility to project handover. You will be dealing with clients who are "household" names in the Oil and Gas business and among some of the biggest companies in the world!
Right now, they need someone from a structural design background to join them on a permanent basis. Ideally you will be degree qualified in a related discipline with a track record in structural analysis, structural design and project engineering. A Knowledge of structural calculations and stress analysis tools would be a succinct advantage. This role would require someone to work in the UK and also abroad in places like Australia for short periods of time as and when required.
Attitude and team fit is of key importance to this firm. They need someone who is looking for a challenge and a step up, maybe their first job in an oil related firm moving over from construction. They need someone who is willing to take responsibility for projects, get stuck in and solve problems and not focus on the negatives, but on the positives of any situation they face and take action to solve problems. You will be the structural project manager for the firm, they will train you on the specific requirements and legislation you need to know and guide you through your first 6 months. This is a small, family feel company with a big turnover and an even bigger track record. They need someone who is driven by working in an environment like this and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.
In return, they offer an excellent salary for this permanent role (up to 55k based on experience) and benefits package, excellent training, prospects for career development and international exposure. This is a very urgent requirement and therefore I urge applicants to contact me this week. Please send your CV and also a covering letter with why you feel you are suited to this role. I will be meeting with the client early next week to arrange interviews.
Should you want more information on the requirements / company or job, please contact me as soon as possible.
