Subsea pipelines, landfalls and jetties
Risers, flexibles, and umbilicals
Subsea trees, controls, remote intervention and manifolds
Subsea structures
Floating production
About the role
Our client is looking for 2 principal engineers with 15+ years’ experience of subsea pipeline design/construction/operations. They are looking for a long term addition to our team on a permanent or contract basis. Skills in related areas such as risers, subsea systems, structures, or umbilicals and controls would be an advantage. This is a technical, hands-on roles with an element of project engineering/management. They have a stream of challenging projects ranging from product development and deepwater analysis to trunk line design.
The post will be in London (Tonbridge) or Aberdeen (Westhill) to suit the candidate.
Technical work
The candidate will need to be capable of the following engineering work:
Data search, review and analysis
Preparing and checking engineering calculations, particularly on Excel and Mathcad
Report, specification and procedure writing and checking
Prepare and give presentations to clients on work done
Input to drawings and interface with CAD
Writing and review of our client's technical course presentations
Use of proprietary software packages
Working within QMS, suggesting improvements, quality audits
Consultancy at clients’ offices: problem solving, risk assessments
Specialisations
The candidate will additionally offer one or more elements of specialisation
Analysis using software such as Mathcad, ABAQUS, Olga, or Orcaflex
FEA and CFD analysis
Presenting courses
Project engineering, project management, line management
Sales and customer relationship management
Qualifications and experience
Essential
15+ years’ experience in subsea engineering
2.2 B Eng degree or higher in engineering, aeronautics, naval architecture, maths, or physics
Desirable
Chartered engineer, member or fellow of an engineering institution
Right to work in UK
Skills
Essential
Write and speak English clearly and fluently
Desirable
One or more of the specialisations above
IT-literate
Driving licence
Salary £80K - £95K plus excellent benefits
