I am working with a global consultancy that is interested in recruiting a senior structural engineer to their busy Aberdeen based team.

Involved in projects from concept engineering through to execution in terms of system design and equipment selection. They also undertake specialist reviews of industry capability and individual product designs.

They have worked on some of the most exciting and varied projects in the worldwide oil and gas sector and in particular challenging projects at the limits of current industry capabilities.

An opportunity exists for a senior structural engineer to join their Aberdeen based oil and gas team.

The responsibilities for the successful engineer will involve providing a consultancy service to a wide range of disciplines and applications covering fixed and floating structures, terminals, refineries and petrochemical plants and pipelines.

With a track record spanning over 1000 offshore installations both UK wide and internationally, they now need to recruit someone of a senior level to enable them to continue to carry out the completion and delivery of this specialist consultancy work.

You will be required to work with the clients and advise on the structural implications of their projects. It would be an advantage if the successful candidate had some commercial experience of managing work to cost and time targets and there will be significant input required into the bids and proposals process.

Management and mentoring experience of more junior engineers would also be an advantage as it is highly likely you will be assigned projects and a team of engineers to facilitate the delivery of these projects.





It is essential that the successful candidate has an honours degree or equivalent in structural, civil or offshore engineering. It would be highly beneficial for someone who is working towards or indeed is already chartered. Experience of Finite Element Analysis, traditional first principles of engineering and hand calculations is also required. Good report writing and communication skills along with excellent project management skills will also be a pre-requisite. It would be also helpful for the client if you had previous experience with wave loading and vessel motions. The role may occasionally involve offshore survey and international travel therefore applicants are urged to consider this before they apply.
