Financial Controller

Due to additional investment  and restructuring an exciting opportunity has arisen with a world leading manufacturing business. The role will require a dynamic and commercial Financial Controller who is capable of working as part of the senior management team for a £70 million T/O business. 

The successful candidate not only needs to be a qualified accountant but crucially a leader who can inspire and motivate a small accounting team. The Financial Controller will also need to be able to communicate at all levels from the factory floor to the Managing Director. Additionally the Financial Controller needs to posses a logical approach to problem solving and be capable of innovative thinking in the creation of management controls.

Key duties include:
· Responsible for the management and development of 6 full-time members of staff and the delivery of their tasks to the business.
· Ensure best practice is applied throughout the finance department in relation to all tasks, covering daily, weekly and monthly reporting, working capital and cash management, purchase and sales ledger management, payroll, general administrative duties and reception.
· Provide financial advice to senior management on a variety of issues as they arise.
· Part of key site strategic planning team, evaluating opportunities and presenting financial business plans.
· Responsible for ensuring that all reports, internal to the company, group-wide and those to external parties are completed accurately and timeously.
· Responsible for the updating of the salaried staff costs forecast, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
· Provide a detailed annual budget
· Responsible for the production of year-end accounts and the provision of clear audit files to enable a speedy and easy year-end.
· Ensure that all relevant parties are involved in the monthly forecasting process and that the forecast has a clear audit trail to previous forecasts.
· Ensure that the Management Accounting and Financial Accounting systems are reconciled to allow for speedy and accurate month-end procedures.
 
Additionally the role will be based in rural Aberdeenshire but will be with in easy access of Aberdeen city. Consequently this is the ideal location to work and raise a family should candidates outside the area wish to relocate.
